I just purchased airline tickets...oh yeah!!

That's right...we got our court date yesterday!!!  We are all set for court on august 14th, just under a week from the court closure.  Tor and I are excited beyond words.  Baby girl will be in our arms in just 11 days and I can hardly wait.  Once we pass court there will be plenty of photos and videos posted, but for now I am just happy to share this fabulous news.  Now, I'm off to start packing and preparing for a month of in-country bonding with my new daughter.  "Mommy"...can you imagine someone will be calling me that? HA...crazy :)

Keep those fingers crossed

Our MOWA letter is ready!!!!  That means the orphanage and the Ministry of Women's Affairs has given their 'ok' for us to become baby T's parents.  This also means we have officially been submitted to the courts and they are now in the process of assigning us a court date.  Want a little more good news?  Usually the courts close on during the first week of August...we have heard that this year's court closure will be August 22nd!!!  If this is correct, it gives us an additional 2 weeks to possibly get assigned a court date before the closure and not have to wait until October.  Tor and I think the delayed rainy season is because of global warming, not good for the many farmers and Ethiopians that need the rain and for them my heart is sad.  Intense droughts have led to famine and starvation for many people in the country in the past, and of course we would never wish for that no matter how much it sped up this process.

"So you're saying I have a chance?"  Yes - a chance.  We are sitting by the phone to hear of an assigned court date, which could be emailed to us Any.  Day.  Now.  I am having a hard time thinking of anything else :)

Hold on baby girl!

7 Months Old!

Baby girl, you are 7 months old today! You're growing so fast, and all we can do is watch. Mommy and Daddy love you do much, and trust me, we are doing everything we can to bring you home soon. I hope you are learning to sit up by yourself, and I can't wait to smooch those little fingers and toes!  We are so impatient and can't wait to cuddle you lots and lots.

We love and miss you baby girl!
